Personal Career & Interests

Chaudhary Mohammad Iqbal son of Ch Sultan Ahmed was born on July 6, 1943 in India. He graduated in 1963 from Government College, Sheikhupura. A seasoned politician and parliamentarian, who served as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1985-88, 1988-90, 1990-93, 1993-96, 1997-99, 2002-07 and 2013-18. He is the only Member who has the honour to serve this Assembly for the highest number of terms and during his tenures he functioned as Minister for Revenue, Relief & Consolidation during 1985-88, Minister for Information during 1989-90, Minister for Agriculture during 1990-93, Minister for Education, Irrigation & Power during 1997-99, Minister for Health during 2003-07, Minister for Food during 2003-06. He also served as Special Assistant to Chief Minister during 1988-89, Member of Public Accounts Committee during 1993-96 and Chairman, Committee on Privileges during 2013-18. An agriculturist, who has returned to the Punjab Assembly for the eighth term in General Elections 2018. He has travelled to UK, USA, Iran and Malaysia on official visits.
